I must say (as a female) you'd be right [Wink] Even though I am not feeling that they leave John Paul Jones outta everything when they perform....still love Zeppelin.

Rush (who didn't have Moving Pictures??)
Stones (watched the concert yet again to see Lisa Fisher and Mic sing Gimme Shelter-one of the greatest songs ever!!!!!!!!!)
The Who & Pete's solos stuff (before his latest issues)

"Crazy Train" -- OZZY, DIO, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, "Tom Sawyer" -- Rush, the early Funkadelic stuff (which is really hard rock funk), Led Zeppelin, the architects of the hard-rock sound. I like the Sex Pistols too, even though they're considered punk-rock and not hard rock.

How could I forget Bad Brains, Living Colour, FISHBONE (INCREDIBLY underrated band), I didn't really dig Ice T's band Body Count...

Zep was the joint, though. I read an interview where JPJ, I believe, said Bonzo's favorite music was Motown and Soul. Those cats were peeping James Brown before it was cool for rock cats to do so.

Black Sabbath is cool also.

FUNKADELIC!!!

Give it up to females serving some hard rock:

The Pretenders - Chrissy Hynde is a bad-ass! If you don't believe me, listen to "Tattoed Love Boys" and "Message of Love". Damn.

The Runaways (featuring Joan Jett & Lita Ford)-their vocals were a bit weak, but the band rocked pretty hard.

Heart-"Barracuda" was hard, and "Straight On" is a nice funk rock disco number that's similar to the Stone's "Miss You"

Bad-asses! [Hail]

yo, you know the story behind Fishbone? Apparently they were bused from Compton or Watts to a white highschool as part of an exchange program.

A genre we call "new rock" which includes System of a Down, Disturbed, the Headstones, Finger Eleven (one of the BEST newer bands imo) is picking up major steam here - it's being played in the clubs. I go to these jams a lot and they feel more 'house' than anything going on as of late...
