IF THEY HAD A GRAMMY (or some other major award) CATEGORY FOR HOUSE/DISCO DJS?

HAS ANYONE EVER THOUGHT ABOUT CREATING AWARDS FOR THE BEST OF THE BEST?

OF COURSE, SELF SATISFACTION IS ALWAYS FIRST, BUT I JUST THINK IT WOULD BE NICE. THERE ARE SOME REALLY GREAT DJS OUT THERE WHO DESERVE ACCOLADES. AS FOR THE CRITERIA, I THINK THAT WOULD BEST BE ANSWERED BY A DJ, BUT I CAN SAY BLENDING WOULD BE IMPORTANT. I'VE HEARD SOME PEOPLE MIX WHEREAS YOU HAVE TO PUT ON TRACK SHOES TO CATCH THAT NEXT BEAT COMING IN.

but yeah, crowd reaction and musicianship. basically.

I MEAN REALLY, LOOK HOW LONG IT WAS BEFORE HIP HOP/RAP BECAME A CATEGORY. ADMIRATION OF THE CROWD IS COOL, BUT I THINK A TANGIBLE AWARD WOULD JUST BE NICE.

My friend told me they had something kind of like this at the Winter Music Conference 2 years ago. I am not sure how the winners were determined, but there were winners for all the different genres.

With awards comes drama and politics. Do we need anymore than we already have??......JMJ

WE DON'T NEED THAT STUFF BUT I'D LIKE TO THINK THAT THE HOUSE/DISCO SET WOULD BE A LITTLE MORE CIVILIZED THAN THAT. IT AIN'T LIKE THE SOURCE AWARDS. FOLKS FIGHTING, EAST COAST/WEST COAST BEEFS. RIDICULOUS. PEOPLE SHOULD LEAVE ALL THAT PETTY B.S. AT THE DOOR. YOU CAN BE GOOD AT SOMETHING AND AT THE SAME TIME RESPECT THAT THERE IS SOMEONE OUT THERE AS GOOD AS OR BETTER THAN YOU AT A CRAFT. DOESN'T MAKE YOU LESS OF A PERSON.

Celebrate your favorite DJ's by supporting their events. Awards mean nothing if the scene isn't thriving......JMJ

SOME OF THE UNHEARD OF DJS CAN'T GET A BREAK AND SOME END UP SPINNING IN HOLE IN THE WALL DIVES WITHOUT MUCH OF A CROWD. EVEN IF THEY DO GET A CROWD, THEY MAY NOT APPRECIATE THE MUSIC. I MEAN I CAN SIT AND LISTEN TO SOME OF MY FAVES IN THEIR BASEMENT ALL NIGHT LONG AND SING THEIR PRAISES. BUT IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE THAT EASY TO GET A CHANCE TO DEBUT AT THE HOTSPOTS SO THAT PEOPLE CAN KNOW WHO YOU ARE.

I knew that I wasn't capable of doing it the way I wanted it done.
