View Full Version : who's mix should be mix #1000 on DHP?

I'd like to see a great dj featured, who hasn't been featured on the board yet: Paul Johnson. Paul is an example of a phenomenal dj who has stayed true to deep house while becoming immensely popular with folks who are not the usual "househeads". His name recognition is bigger than almost any other deep house legend out there, and that's something that should be respected. I don't feel Paul gets enough recogntion on this board.
My other candidates would be Mike Clark , Francois K, and King Britt.
Imho, there's only one who's mix deserves to be # 1000 : our one an only G-man ! I bet he's got some of his old tapes laying around.. :D
greetings,
'Magic' Juan

Definitely should be reserved for someone we have not heard from yet. PJ is a good choice.

i would love to hear a Francis Grasso tape or an early Loft tape or something.. Does that actually exist ? A tape from the early seventies ? (sorry for my ignorance, but I have no clue when tapes got introduced as a medium)

1963 - Philips demonstrated its first compact audio cassette using high-quality BASF polyester 1/8-inch tape that ran at 1-7/8 ips; sold the next year in the U.S. with the Norelco Carry-Corder dictation machine, but the demand for blank tape used for personal music recording was unanticipated by Philips.

The dopest mix out this year jergoffs.

I would say JMJ hitting us off with an Italo mix for a change of pace OR DJ Klas. For all of you who have not been exposed to his style, it's quite amazing. Finally, either Ron Hardy or F Knuckles would be nice. Peace!

DJ Klas would be cool, too, of course.
Peace.

Rufus Simms. It's GOTTA be Rufus.

I think the honor should be either Gman's or Timmy's since they do the work that keeps this board running.

i think it could also be nice, to put a mix from an up-and-coming 'star' in the deephouse world up as the 1000th mix. as sort of a statement, that eventhough deephouse started two decades ago, it's not 'dead', but still very much alive and has a future aswell.

Surely someone must have a couple laying around. Great! Now I have a new mission in life.
