Just touching bases with everyone as the summer just rolls on.
This Friday, July 20, 2007 is a special show on, www.facethebass.com/live.php which includes some music from Rasmir Mantree who is the owner of Mantree Records. Rasmir is responsible for taking his undivided time and is still teaching me how to produce music. I owe it all to Rasmir and thanks again, as we need more people in this so called House Music Industry who aren’t selfish about their knowledge. There are others out there who are very supportive, and you know who you are.
Here is something about Rasmir as he writes on his myspace page, http://www.myspace.com/mantreerecords where you can download music that he has produced.
To tell you a little about myself, I started my interest in music at a very young age. While in high school I joined the Marching Band and Jazz Band at Weequahic High School, in Newark N.J. in which I played alto sax and drums. I also played in a local 9 piece band called the Soul Sound Syndicate. After high school I started DJing at William Patterson College, I later started my own production "Dub Masters LTD" then "Get Loose Productions" and then "N2U". My mixing style was mainly influenced by Larry Levan of The Paradise Garage. After taking a few wrong turns in life I left the music sene in 1995, but on Dec 31, 2003, Producer/Song writer Joe Flame asked me to write a spokenword about me dancing. I agreed and the next day we recorded "Dance or die" which open a new door to life for me. Two days later I met my Soulmate Maxine. With the will of God and the Love and support of Maxine, I started ManTree records. I've since produce "The Max", "Nubian Sista", "Vanita", "Mr.Al Cook" aka "Just", "Top Secret", "Eugene Arstrong", "KT Brooks" and "Eddie Nicholas" along with tracks of my own. In the future I plan to work with as many artist and producers that "My Higher Power" will allow and to bring you House Music that will not just move your feet but will also move your SPIRIT. Just think, If there was no HOUSE MUSIC, we would all be HOMELESS.
Now take a few minutes to listen and download some of his music, from sites like: Stompy.com, wasabeat.com, afrodesiamp3.com, and clickgroove.com to name a few.
Also this Friday, I will be featuring some great house music from the past and present starting at 2pm until 4:30 and then Eddie Cruz comes on featuring a multitude of house music.
