Master Kev's early influences, Timmy Regisford, Merlin Bobb and of course Tony Humphries were such an inspiration to Kev that he knew early on that music was going to be an integral part of his life. Kev started to work for Tony Humphries and Tony's label "Yellorange" back in 1999. Mr. Humphries had taught Kev a tremendous amount about playing for different crowds all over the world , anywhere from the continental US to all over Europe and beyond. In March of 2000, Kev played his first Winter Music Conference gig in Miami, Florida to a packed house in the main room at Bar Room for the Yellorange/Basement Boys Party. The experience solidified his place in the Yellorange camp and introduced him to many other important people in the industry that he hadn't met before. In October of that same year, Master Kev helped form the Underground Collective. Started in New York City in 2000, the collective of DJs, musicians and singers was created to draw exposure within the dance music industry to major labels. The party was a huge success and lasted in NYC for well over 3 years . They had also booked many of the top names in house as guests including Louie Vega, Tony Humphries, David Morales, Kerri Chandler, Frankie Feliciano, Dennis Ferrer, DJ Spinna, DJ Spen as well as singers Kenny Bobien, Michelle Weeks, Barbara Tucker and so many more. The event became so popular that they took their show across the globe and US and have had many successful Miami WMC parties as well. Kev went along, playing alongside residents Marlon D, David Tobon, and Phil D. Besides his work with the Underground Collective, Kev has played 7 Winter Music Conferences in Miami,Florida; three Italian Music Conferences in Ricciadone, Italy; made several appearances at Club Red , Andalu, and Club 5 in Washington, D.C.; David Harness's Taboo party in San Francisco as well as his "Super Soul Sundays" at the End Up; the "Devotion" party at the End Up with Tony Humphries ; DEEP LA with Marques Wyatt ,Soul Heaven in Los Angeles; and the Opium Garden in Miami and AKA in Orlando, Florida. Abroad, he's played at Fabric (London),Turnmills for SOUL HEAVEN (London), Dance Wicked (London),AKA (London) Sir Henry's (Cork, Ireland), Cheers (Paris, France), Dance Culture at DJOON (Paris) Balux , (Athens, Greece) , HOME (Athen's, Greece), MOTEL (Athens , Greece) Goa (Rome, Italy), Angels Of Love (Naples, Italy), , Garage 416 (Toronto, Canada), Roxy Blu (Toronto) Fukuoka and Sendai , Japan.....Tapas (Bangkok, Thailand), Mint Bar (Koh Samui, Thailand ) and many other places. Through his love of the music, hard work, and constant touring, Master Kev has become a contemporary among his DJ idols and admired friends. He has played with Kerri Chandler, DJ Spinna, DJ Spen & Karizma, Teddy Douglas, Mr V , Alix Alvarez, Neil Pierce and Aaron Ross, Jerome Sydenham, Dennis Ferrer, Marques Wyatt, Danny Krivit, David Morales, JoVonn, Greg Gauthier & Sven Love, DJ Deep, Tyrone Solomon 83 West, Dino & Terry, Doug Smith (95 North), Louis Benedetti, Frankie Feliciano, many many others and of course his early influence, DJ Timmy Regisford, at Club Shelter in New York City. In 2006, Kev started working on original productions with David "Vibes" Tobon & John Crockett forming MKDV. They produced a track called "Twisted" which has gained a tremendous amount of buzz and has had HUGE early support from DJ's such as Tony Humphries, Louie Vega, Marques Wyatt, DJ Spinna, David Harness, Tedd Patterson, Aaron Ross, Simon Dunmore and of course the man who signed the record , DJ Spen. .. ..Released in September 2006 on Code Red and distributed through Defected , this has been a huge first track for Master Kev and his crew... Hot remixes from Spen & Thommy Davis, JoVonn and Karizma are also featured on the release as well as a previously unreleased version from Tedd Patterson that will rock your dancefloor soon coming!!! Look out for many more projects coming from MKDV productions including a remix of Ian Friday's "Carib's LeaP for West End Records OUT NOW on Traxsource, the 2nd release on Code Red/Defected coming soon entitled "Hysteria" as well a track entitled '656 Forever' OUT NOW on Traxsource Tony Humphries label "Tony Records" and a few remixes we just finished for Sara Devine 'Special' for Vega Records to be released in April 2007 as well.. Kev has also partnered with Scott Wozniak as of late working on some insane tracks called "String Thing " and "Uncooked" both in the process of being signed now to a major label as well as some remixes including one for the one and only Stevie Wonder for his hit "My Cherie Amour" as well as much more...stay tuned!!
