this is definitely a girl rump shaker. I could do without the nightcrawler samples though. I'd rather play the OG

I play the original alot, albiet not in house sets. But I like this. I passed on it the first time in the store, but it has really grown on me. I picked it up and enjoy playing it. The beat reminds me of his haunted house (bside of haunted) track as has a similar bass line to touch the sky & that telepop musik vocal. Any way I love the vocal, I think it's one of the better pop vocals in a long time and I think this remix production is good enough to work with all the other contempory house stuff right now.

When I heard Timmy played this track at Shelter, I lost it. It got a great crowd response. Everyone was feeling it that he dropped it twice. I don't know how many times I've visited Quentin's page just to hear this song. And I don't even like the original song that much until this remix.
He must not sleep that much cos people are talking about a remix of Jill Scott's Hate On Me that's been described as fire. On the hunt for that one now.

Yes it is. I ordered mine from http://www.opusrecords.com on Monday. I just looked at the site again today and its no longer in stock.
Dancetracks had it earlier this week also and they are out of stock.
Juno or DJ Hut hasn't stocked it yet.
Those are the only ones that I know of. Can anybody assist.:conf44:

there's another house mix of this track out there less monotonous and with nicer strings - anyone know who might have done it?

I don't care what TAC and Chris says, (they don't go out anyways...one plays soccer every sunday and the other is too damn angry) this shit is super fucking HOT!!!! and the the nightcrawler samples just takes it to another height!!!
however, this does not sound like the version that Timmy originally had and is playing at SHELTER...with his the bass is pounding!!! or maybe it was my punch or my little orange pills....hmmmm..
I'm glad this is finally out!!!

I loved this cut the first time I heard it in the shop. Didn't really see the damage it could do until I heard Sting play it at the shelter this past Sunday morning.
I think it has a lot of universal appeal (great backing track, recognizable vocal), but a friend of mine who played this version said it cleared the dancefloor at the new chi-chi super club here in d.c.

This is very funny.... Actually, I think you should say "I don't go out anymore...
The song sucks bullballs.... If you have to blast it to make it sound good, then that's an indicator right there.
The nightcrawler samples are pathetic and uncreative. I think DJ 138 hit a very relevant note when he mentioned the aspect of songs in this whole thing.
Anyway, I'm not going to sh*t on anyones parade any longer. If ya'll like it, then enjoy.

That's cool and I know that's what the thread is about. Her voice is "fingernails on a chalkboard" to me though. Her voice [to me] doesn't work for a house track. But I can respect the fact that it's a track that would work well on the dancefloor.

to each his own...but the women would be shaking their rump just as much if not more if he played the damn originals! those are two nice songs mashed up into a complete mess...i like a lot of quentin's stuff, but he really needs to calm it down with all these r&b/pop remixes...

Of course liking it is subjective. But the remix is not a mess. That's just bad commentary. If you like Fertado's voice in this, I find the vocal melodic-hypnotic, then you should be fine with this mix if your playing any other new house of the moment. If you don't like the vocal, then of course your not feeling it. I'll bet I could keep most of the naysayers on the floor with this, like it or not.

Those R&B/Pop remixes have allowed me to turn people on to the "house" sound. When they are already familiar with the tune, Its that much easier to bridge the gap. Especially with the women. (Dayum, is this the reason why my parties are always packed?)

why the need to turn every song, including those that were ALREADY danceable, into the same formulaic track that we hear all the time?

Because I think vocals that are out thier and in our environment should be thrown into house form. But that's just me. I like that it happens with songs, regardless if I like the song or not, I'm down with the practice itself.

I know I'm new here beat me down if it makes you feel better but fuck it I gotta speak my mind!
I dont know if TAC is being serious but this song does suck! Has this guy been elavated to the status of "do no wrong"?
Every damn song he remixes cant be the shit?! He is a producer no? Not just a remixer. Produce some shit. These remakes cant be the only way.
Ive heard other stuff buy him and some if not most is very tight but we gotta call a ball foul when its foul.
Arguing over the like or dislike of a song is pointless. We all have opinions and I truly respect everyones. My main point is the do no wrong status. I think we get blinded by a string or history of bangers and this plays into our true like or dislike of a song by a given artist.
While I'm at it add Osunlade to that pile to. AGAIN, tons of DOPE shit but its like soon as he has a release its the dopest sounding shit ever.
Fuck it Im on a roll. With my house artist "blasphemy" I got turned on to KDJ late.Heard all the bangers and quickly started to buy everything with a variation of his name on it then had to say HTFU? All this shit aint dope.(Im diggin the "Id rather be lonely" though)
We all have that artist we will buy without even a listen. Just on the name alone. But somtimes we gotta step back and call they ass on it.l
