i wouldn't, period...

at a funeral recently, i met this guy who after every sentence said 'praise god'.... and i mean EVERY sentence...he was a friend of the deceased...he asked if he could speak briefly at the wake which they allowed him...cool...but he turned it into a recruiting speech much like some people on this board do...then after the wake he was walking around individually to everyone still left (quite a few people were there) and started the usual speech...and he fit the typical 'born again' profile to a t...went to rehab, came a christian spweing memorized speeches, memorizing bible quotes and telling you what websites to go...but couldn't answer any basic question...his answer to everything was that the person needed jesus...and 'praise god' after every sentence...

Actually the funny thing is about religious gals is they will ultimately tell you they want to be with a guy that’s more religiously inline with them. Ironically it is their ‘need’ for Jesus, that ends up separating themselves from others without the same zeal; now how ‘Christian’ is that?

I consider myself to be a christian and I'm not afraid to admit that.

I understand that some of you all don't like to have someone attempt to push their beliefs off on you and I don't think anyone should.

I also don't think it's fair to watch some of you make jokes about something that some of us here care very deeply for but to each his own.

This board should not be used to Evangelize and I agree with that, but i don't think the board should be used to "crucify" no pun intended, those of us who love GOD and are not in that minority of cats who come here and attempt to force their beliefs on you all.

Steve, I didn't miss the point of YOUR intended discussion topic, it's just that some cats use topics like the one you started to take pop shots at my religion and I don't think it's right.

I'm not around here telling everyone that they should be Christians and should pray or they'll go to hell, religion is a personal thing and if you don't believe what i believe thats fine.

I just don't like to see cats use religion threads to blast a religion that I love and if it was something else that I love like Phi Beta Sigma or being a Mason, I would feel the same way.......

Jesus Freak is a person that does too much praying, too much preaching and not enough moving to be active in the things they pray for. We do our part and God will do the rest, like put the right people at the right time in our path to help.

My brother sometimes says one of the hardest things about recovery (he went through AA and a whole slew of therapy) was learning not to treat God as Santa, always asking for things...but to learn to be thankful. Just thankful. And to make the best of what was in front of him.
