(for all you wondering what I'm doing on a computer today, I had to go get a hard hat, so here i am , getting a hard hat, ok? thankyou.)

Wondering if anyone learned anything new with the last few day's rantings (my wife's words, not mine.) on race. Did anyone come away with anything new?

Any minds elightened or changed?

Should we fight over definitions again about this time next year?

As for me, I found out about a few more people who see the current state of things as I do. And I confirmed that Harvard attracts good people, and Yale does not. (kidding.)

i've learnt (re-learnt) MOST people don't want to solve either racism or injustice in our global community.

i've learnt this game is about ego to most people.

i've reminded myself how to focus on the problems WE as peoples of the global community share and can help each other solve AS A COMMUNITY of individuals.

i've learnt that nature laughs at the "custodians of black and white" when it mixes the colours of our skins at will.

i've learnt colour is relative, independant from our characters, and an excuse and a serious distraction from the pain all of us peoples may suffer.

What I learned (http://www.villagevoice.com/issues/0339/bain.php) in the last few days really depressed me. http://deephousepage.com/smilies/banghead.gif

And that's only because it got published. There is so much more every day that doesn't....

The Rush/ESPN thing? Yet another blatant example of how vile and insensitive he is, only because he is catering to a captive audience that WANTS to hear him says things like that. graemlins/puke.gif

Yet, I truly want to believe that very slowly, some good is emerging out of all this (in the big cities). There are people actually having to learn to get along, not always by choice, but it is an irreversible phenomenon.

Those that want to maintain that de-facto 'status quo' in lack of integration and perpetuated myths of prejudice will have to isolate themselves in order to further those goals. This, to a degree is already happening (or so I hear) in places like Montana, Washington State, Oregon. I actually can envision them trying to secede from the rest of the US on racially-tinged pseudo-religious grounds within about 30~50 years.

And the kicker there is that we couldn't even say 'Good Riddance', because they are armed, dangerous and in control of the local law enforcement, not to speak of some of the other civil services.

Film in the year 2030.
