Peven Everette - Kissing Game (12" import)
I'm so late, its pathetic. But if you've been paying attention, you'll note that I dropped the lyrics to this in one of my rants a long time ago. Peven has been selling his CD's through Dustygroove. The orignal mixes can be found on the two CD's that he previously released that was sold out of this store. Oh, I'm talking about Puerto Rico. With the remix, they add an extended front end, and the back end is totally new. Don't sleep. If you don't know about this song, then your mad LATE!!!!!!

Patrica Marx & 4Hero - Submerso (12" Import)
This one is a bossa sounding thing that starts of with a drum break intro, and about half way through the females starts singing. Seek it out. Moving the genra foward.

Maga Bo feat. Tamy - Tru Thoughts (12" Import)
I started of listening to Tudo Bem. However, I soon found myself drifting toward the quantic mix of Tanto Faz. Again, seek it out and LISTEN. Open minds only need apply.

Perry Hemus - Rhodesmode (12" Import)
Dancetracks screwed me on this; in tha, it was not in my pile when I got there, nor were there any copies left at the store. Anyhoo, no description other than to tell you that its alternative sounding music that is beating none the same.

Mike 'Agent X' Clark - Motown EP (12" Import)
Another track off the beaten path. I ain't saying sh*t, but check out "Motown."

These are all untraditional sounding pieces. However, they are BEATING. The music ain't dying, its just metamorphasizing (sp?). Will you keep up, or stay stuck in the past.

Peace

TAC hope you don't mind if I throw these other alternatives from 2003 up on yr thread...:

Ellen Mcilwaine - Aint no two ways / Born under a bad sign (Routine Jazz)
a slide-guitar house jaunt which I really took to but it took two times. the flip, an upbeat broken beat song but the vocal is strong, jazzy. this release keeps it creative, as does...

Peven Everett - Testin me (Guttbucket mix) (ABB)
carrying on with a country (?) feeling, this might not slam with the beats but the energy is in the scat, harmonica and claps!

Tracks from DJ Smash... - Phonography vol.2 (Blue Note)
Smash's remix of Bobby McFerrin's 'Pat & Joe' and further into jazz, Goran Kajfes 'Mesquelero'.

Kindred the family soul - Rhythm of Life (King Britt remix)
well you probably know about this one and its got its place in yr box. I think they put out the full remix recently, I still got the remix radio edit. how this inspires dancing and singing...

DJ Mitsu the beats - EP2 (Planet Groove)
this japanese cat is joined by Dwele on 'Right Here' which for me is stronger than most of his 'Subject' LP cuts, and flip over to the collab with Mark De Clive-Lowe for something really nice & jazzie.

Revisionaries - What can I do for you (Hipbone cover project)
pick up on this great remake of the Labelle classic? Alex P Suter on strong vox among others. IMO the Frankie Valentine remix doesn't do too much but worth mentioning Tony Allen is present on percushh.

peace

On a similar note, Ubiquity have been releasing some good stuff recently. Just picked up the latest Roy Davis Jr/ Ayro collabo and the new John Beltran, both of which IMO are banging.

new one from Reggie Dokes (aka Koomba Project alongside Malik Alston (?)) on Psychostasia recordings out of Detroit. Reggie works hard on his music, what you're hearing is very much his own:

Simply Ask (http://www.vinyl-junkies.co.uk/samples/VJ8752_2.ram)

Black Thought (Tribal Mix) (http://www.vinyl-junkies.co.uk/samples/VJ8752_3.ram)

some DHP peepl got a little excited about Black Thought (orig mix) when it was IDed from a Theo Parrish mix online...
