I just did it in May (don't know how you can stand the August heat) and loved all of it. Although didn't make it into St. Peters (too many people).

My favorite part of the Vatican was at the Sistine Chapel of course. But for a different reason. I was cracking up inside because the cops were so serious and every 5 seconds would do the loudest "SHHHHHHHHH" and say "NO FOTO" in a monotone. 200 tourists were like sheep just staring up at Michael Angelo's (as some tourist called him) work
