there was a program on UK tv, some years back, The Hip Hop Years. I video'd it at the time. For the people that watched the house doc. "pump up the volume" on here, this is a similiar one about the beginning of hip hop onwards.

there where three parts, the first two (especially the first one feat. Kool Herc, Flash etc) are exceptional.

now it's internetted, so watch them here:

"Another chance to watch this really quite brilliant series. The first instalment charts the beginnings of hip hop in late 70s America."

Martin Red, Good lookin with the link to the documentary,'The Hiphop years my man(Much Respect to you moneygrip), Martin, It was very nice to see cats like Bam(Afrika Bambatta,Flash,Kool Herc, Fab Five Freddy,DMC,Etc), I haven't seen the whole Documentary, Yet, But I most definitely like what i see(Brings back very fond memories/LOL), The cats who were filming the

Documentary, Were very visual to the ninth power(Taking shots of the Cross Bronx Expressway while riding in a car/LOL, Martin, One of my first hiphop tapes, Was a throwdown at Smalls Paradise uptown/Harlem, In the summer of 1975, Featuring Dj Hollywood(Hollywood's Birthday throwdown/LOL), I had a tape with Lovebug Starski and Les Love(From The Bronx), In 1976 At a spot

In Manhattan called, The Superstar Disco on 34thst and 8thave(Across the Street from Madison Square Garden and the Big Post office), Lovebug Starksi was a guest at the Superstar Disco(Les Love was the regular MC at The Superstar Disco from 1975-1979), That was my first time hearing Lovebug Starski rock a spot(Which he most definitely did that night/LOL), But,

Through the years, After lending tapes out(And, Never getting them back/LOL), Relocating to different cities, Etc, I don't have my tape collection anymore, But, Watching this documentary brings back very good memories.

Wasn't there a song he did ...

Look at the skies
look at the trees
who do you see? Star-sky
who do you see? Star-sky

ba-ba-ba-ba
dang dang dang
diggy diggy diggy
hip hop shoo wop wop
the beat won't stop and thanks a lot
got the 007 yes to drive my car
got Superman for my bodyguard
got the Lois Lane when I need a thrill
got the Godfather to make my kill
'cause I'm bad, bad, yes superbad

Oooooowwwwwwww .... that rap was hot! Ain't nothing like old skool rap!

I found my brother's old beat up cassette with Paco's Supermix - the sound is really grainy, but I heard Discodream, Super Rhymes, Zulu Man, Rock the Body body, Moveout, Planet Rock, Hiphip Bebop, The Latin Groove (Salsa/Everybody Salsa)

Give me some old skool anytime!

LaNegraLoca, The plate that your referring to is called,'Starski at the Fever', By LoveBug Starski in 1983, To hear Lovebug Starksi rock a spot, Is right on time to the ninth power mad hard/LOL, Lovebug Staski can take a crowd any direction that he wants(In regards to having a very good time, Or starting a shootout/LOL), Lovebug Starski is one of the very few cats that could rock

Any type of crowd(Hiphop crowd,Dance music Crowd,Stickup kid crowd,Commecial crowd,Cats movin weight crowd,Basketball crowd,Etc), Lovebug Starski is still a very talented cat mad hard with his to this very day, LaNegraLoca, Do you remember a hiphop plate called, 'The New Rap

Language', By Spoonie G and The Treacherous 3(Which is on the other side of, 'Love Rap', By Sponnie G from 1980), 'The New Rap Language was the first plate with MC's rhyming very fast(On beat too, Which is very hard to do/LOL), 'The New Rap Langauge', Was the first rap plate that made cats

Look into being alot more creative lyrically back in 1980(The work Spoonie G,Kool Moe Dee,LA Sunshine,Special K put in on, 'The New Rap Language', Is still considered Legendary, By those of us, Who love true rhyming, Along with being very creative lyrically, On the low, Kool Moe Dee created the fast style of rhyming in 1978/79.

Hey guys I was listening to some of my vintage 1978, 79, 80, & 81 tapes and I came across the legendary rap convention where Kool Moe Dee destroys the crowd rocker Busy Bee Starski. One of the true great live performances ever! Let the battle begin!

The Melting Pot, BusyBee was way out of his element, In regards to poppin shit about winning MC battles, Around Kool Moe Dee(Who was one of the judge's that night in December 25th of 1981, Rappers convention MC Battle,

Featuring:The Force MC's(With, Docter Rock mixing),Johnny Wa(With, Dj Taystick from the Harlem world crew mixing),Busybee(With, Dj Aj mixing),Kool Moe Dee(With, Easy Lee/Treacherous 3, Mixing), The Coldcrush 4(With, Tony

Tone mixing,Charlie Chase was not there at Harlem Worlld that night/LOL), Alot of times, A cats ego will get his skirt pulled in regards to popping shit, And, That's what happened to Busybee, Going up against Kool Moe Dee, both Times at Harlem World on Decmeber 25th of 1981, And, New Years Night of 1982(Which, Van Silk and Dj Randy From the Harlem crew, Has the reel-to

Reels to), Popping shit pulled LL's(LL Cool J), Shirt up too, In regards to LL popping shit around Kool Moe Dee in 1986, But, LL, Most definitely, Knew the time, When it came to battling against Kool Moe Dee(WORD/LOL), Arsenio

Hall, Wanted To feature a MC battle on his show in 1992, Featuring:LL vs Kool Moe Dee/LOL, But, LL copped a plea to the ninth power with his(Which was a very good career move for LL too/LOL), By, Not accepting, Arnenio Hall's offer to come on The Arsenio Hall show to battle Kool Moe Dee in 1992/LOL.
