The reason i ask this question if because im a single father and around this time every year the kids spend time with the mothers side of the family and im usually here alone and feeling kind of left out. I have no significant other (Female love interest) at this time, you know how it goes She likes me but i dont like her, I like her but she doesnt like me. its been like this for a few years now and this time of the year i just dont like. Am i wrong to feel this way? any suggestions on how i can make this a better time of the year?

I'm with you on this one R-R... At this time of year, sometimes I don't even like looking around at other people, family or couples, go out to shop or anything like that... I've just been to myself...
Maybe your situation is like leap year. Maybe next year is your year. You'll both like each other. I'm not trying to make light of the situation, just trying to say hang in there and try not to let it get you so down. We need a support group, I tell ya...
I know what the season is really supposed to be about but, it still gets me down sometimes. And music is no solace for me. Otherwise, you would have had some mixes under your tree - from me!

But still, I hope that you have a wonderful holiday!

a lot of different expectations float around at this time of year and i think it's worse for the kids who have been involved in some kind of accommodation/compromise because of their parents fked up behaviour
i don't get to see my son today this year so i will have the "alternative" christmas planned for tomorrow where we will PARTY and i'll just put that much more effort into making sure we have a good time
i wouldn't focus on what other people are doing it's actually nice to be able to chill out a little
Its said that Christmas can be a very lonely time for some. Hang in there bro.
Peace

can't relate to the situation with your child but is it possible for you to spend time with other close family or good friends?

That's weird. I don't celebrate and I've had at least 3 or 4 friends invite me over to their family's house for dinner. I find that hard to believe that nobody did that for you Ron?? biggrinangel.gif

i also feel that way during the holidays but i do things that make me happy like hook up w/ old friends, see a good movie and invite friends over. this is the time for you to meet up with your female friends who you take as sisters. we all have some of those.
go to those family dinners at your homeboy's houses, you owe it to yourself.
you are like a son to their parents; they will be waiting with open arms.
you are loved by many.
