I don’t normally express my thanks for much but I got to give credit where it’s due. Thanks DHP. It’s been 3 years since I first visited this site. Up until a year and a half ago, I participated and posted daily. Job constraints and the birth of my child changed all that.

So, although I don’t get visit the DHP much, I’m still more connected to the ‘House’ life more than I was before coming here. For about 7 years, I actually stopped going out, my vinyl collection was gathering dust, In Chi-town, House music fell off the mainstream radar.

But after discovering this site and the music’s historical value, I was inspired to pick up where I left off. I’ve been supporting this scene by hanging out lately, at least once a month. I’ve introduced my younger wife to places like The Hidden, the Basement, Chronium, Slicks, Redno5 , Dragonfly and other hangout spots here. I’m back in the record stores(the Classic section at Gramaphone still in place graemlins/thumbsup.gif ). Running into people I haven’t seen in ages.

If it wasn’t for Gman and this site, none of this would have been possible. So as I sit here contemplating whether to go to HOB tonight to hear Frankie, I’m just giving a grateful shout out to the DHP and it’s Community.

I listened to house music religiously as a teenager in Chicago. I was too young and restricted to go to parties then. In 1991, I went into the Marine Corps and did not listen to house music again until I ran into this site in 2000. I have been to some mind blowing parties and have heard some outstanding music. GMAN, I dont think you know the beast you created worldwide when you created DHP. I am verfy thankful for this site!
