If given a choice, the 909.I just have memories of it and the old school drum tracks that was made from it.Like the ones Terry Hunter,Armando, and Gene Hunt used to do.I use a nice program with 2 303's and a 808 and 909.I love that program.I can't even remember the name of it.

You gotta get Reason too while you're at it.
Reason has a "Rebirth Pattern Machine" in it. It lets you run Reason and Rebirth together, and you can run each Rebirth 303 and each 909 and 808 sound through individual channels in the Reason mixer and run effects on each channel and stuff.
Now that's FUN!!!

Sorry forgot the question. Me, I would buy a 909. I've had a chance to play a 909 and I like the programming better than an 808.

Thanks.I could not remember the name.I also have reason, just not enough memory to use it.

Actually there's a new proggie out now called Project 5. It's supposed to be a Reason KILLER! It's an American proggie made by the Cakewalk people.

When you get your rig up to spec, check out FruityLoops. That'S HOT. There's a new version called FL Studio that's even HOTTER.

Gotta have a REALLY FAST rig, though. I'm gonna try and upgrade my motherboard/cpu this month.

I use ReBirth and Reason but nothing compares to having a big ass drum machine on your lap.

I use to have a 909 but I recently sold it.

I've tried to make up for it by banging my house down with the 909 on Rebirth but it's not the same. :(

So, the reason I ask is because I've been seeing 808's on ebay for a lot cheaper than 909's. The only thing about the 808's though are the lack of MIDI. :(

You ever try the Novation Drumstation? I know some purists who say they hate it and some other cats who love it.

Best of both worlds, right?

The 909 would be my choice. Depends on what you want to use it for. If I remember correctly, the 808 did not have a MIDI connection.

The 808 rackmount. Created for the MIDI musician about 8-10 years ago. Same sounds too!!!
