'Carding' dogs at outdoor cafes?

<!-- Article Publsih Date -->August 29, 2007

Chicago restaurants have grown accustomed to demanding IDs to screen out underaged drinkers. They’ll soon have a new headache on their hands: “carding” dogs that accompany their owners to sidewalk cafes.

After years of, sometimes contentious debate, the City Council’s License Committee agreed today to legalize a practice commonplace in Europe that’s been going on under the table — literally — in Chicago.

You've never owned a dog, have you?

Yes I have.

When I go out to eat I don't want to see animals across from my table at a outside eatery.

Thankfully, I live in a 'hood in Brooklyn without Nazis like you, and I often have my dog with me when dining at a sidewalk table (as do many other customers).

Not once, have I EVER seen a dog piss anywhere near tables, here in bklyn, in London or in France (in both of which it's common to allow dogs in places). In fact, I have never seen anything unhygenic, dangerous, or anything else.

And you think a leashed dog sitting by a table will just piss? You must have had a dog with some sort of serious bladder issue.

Why is someone a Nazi if they don't want to eat with dogs at outdoor establishments?

And what are those with allergies to pet dander to do? Nevermind...already know the answer.

I'm feeling your comments DiscoG!

I did a pizza spot once where the owner had a dog.

The kitchen area was filled with dog hair, it was kinda weird trying to do my job with dog hair all over.

I love dogs, leave the pets at home when you go out to eat.

I know there are many good dogs, save all that cuddly stuff for the household.:biglaugha:

Now let me feed my German Shepard, it's the Nazi way!:rofl5:

1. Trying to legislate everything to death is facist. If a business-owner wants to allow it on his sidewalk, it's bullshit for the government to tell him he can't.

2. Go somewhere else... like I do if there are a bunch of kids at a restaurant (which I've seen ruin way more dining expereinces than dogs). Anybody who claims that they are having allergic reactions to a dog sitting outside at a restaurant are full of shit anyway.

You should run for public office.
