he was in town to do this celebration of Jim Henson's life and work which started here in Washington in the 1950.
I thanked Mr. Belafonte for being one of the first in the media to speak out agaist members of this Administration. He paraphrased Theo Roosavelt (Sp?) and said that when one feels the State imposing it's will upon the people, it can be considered TREASON not to speak up.
I said that I think Powell really heard him on some level.
He laughed and said that he KNOWS Powell heard him on MANY levels!
He and I talked about other things too. Shook his hand, kissed his cheek, it was a GOOD night!
Not bad for $8.50 tix for me, for my wife, $7.50 for the little one who enjoyed HArry B on the muppet show on the big screen (we have the episode on video.). Bought these tix in the middle of the storm last week when we had no power.
