Houston Meets Sharon During Israel Visit
JERUSALEM (AP) - Whitney Houston, on an inspirational trip to the Holy Land, met Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
"It's home, it's home," she said when Sharon asked her how she felt in Israel. She and her husband, singer Bobby Brown, stood next to Sharon on an outdoor patio before their meeting on Tuesday. Houston wore a scarlet African-style dress with a white lace front and a wide scarlet headband, narrow sunglasses shading her eyes.

Houston, who arrived Sunday evening, is being hosted by the Black Hebrews, a group of nearly 2,000 black Americans who followed a Chicago bus driver to Israel decades ago and believe they are descendants of one of the lost tribes of Israelites.
Their religious customs include a vegan diet and polygamy, and they have a well-regarded choir at their compound in the desert town of Dimona. Israel does not recognize them as Jews.
Sharon welcomed Houston and Brown to Jerusalem, which he called "the capital of the Jewish people for 3,000 years." Noting that this was their first trip to Israel, Sharon said he hoped it would be the first of many, to which Houston replied, "Yes."
Houston, who is to stay for a week, plans to visit holy sites in the country, including the Western Wall and the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem and the Sea of Galilee in northern Israel.
Before arriving in Jerusalem, the 39-year-old singer visited the southern resort of Eilat.

Why aren't Whitney and Bobby meeting with the Palestinians? Sharon is an evil man and has committed many crimes against humanity in the oppression of the Palestinian people. This guy deserves absolutely no respect. It's especially troubling that as black people, Whitney and Bobby would know oppression. I guess you would think Jews would know too....

We are talking about Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston - two crack heads!!
the arrogance of the statement "the capital of the jewish people for 3,000 years" really bugs me! i used to be such a staunch supporter of israel, almost blindly, but after reading a book called "blood brothers" and seeing a different side of the story, i've come to the realization that maybe no one is REALLY entitled to this land as they claim time and time again. graemlins/acclaim.gif

Yo, every side has it's own stories, literature and documentaries... it's almost impossible to grasp the whole truth behind that conflict, so don't believe everything you read about it... for every pro someone will give an equal contra, IMO they're both right in one way, and both wrong in an other. And that's exactly why it remains a very difficult problem to solve...
just my 2 cents.
Ow, and Sharon may be a very poor prime-minister but he's not the devil in person, no one there is... and Bobby, well, the picture says it all.

Y'all ever thought of the fact that Whitney and Bobby really love each other?
They've been together 11 years. The world didn't think this marriage would last 11 weeks. I've stopped dissin' Whitney and Bobby. Do they have issues. Like all of us, yes they do. But we (media, haters) have all tried to break that union up (and have used their issues against them). And guess what. They are both laughin' in our faces.
Remember that song they did, "We Have Something In Common"? Maybe we just didn't get it. Maybe they were more made for each other than we thought.
Think about it, y'all, think about it. Peace.
PS--I won't comment on the meeting with Sharon.

I've thought about this over the years, too. In the midst of most folks arguing who is/ isn't commitment material and a culture that doesn't value the institution of marriage (50% divorce rate) (especially entertainers), arguably two of the most "dysfunctional" mofos around have found a way to stay together for 10+ years. Most of the people who judge them wouldn't stick around for 1/4 that long and would be ready to split at the first sign of adversity. Maybe they are doing something right......

I think its really nice that you guys want to see their union as some kind of against all odds we stayed together *ish...but the truth of the matter is this, they are two ghetto (yes folks Whitney was ghetto before she got with Bobby)drug addicts who stay together because they get down the same way. What's the incentive to change under those circumstances?

Judge a marriage by what it PRODUCES!
For example, Bill and Hillary did a good job by sticking together and working shit out. Whitney and Bobby aren't producing as much value, to say the least...
...unless assisting each other in DELUSION is one's idea of a healthy marriage.

Tell me something.
Aren't Valerie Bertinelli and Eddie Van Halen still married? I believe they are. If so, that would make 20+ years. We didn't think it would last 20 weeks. Eddie had some bottle issues, too, if I'm correct? And every media (and every male) started hatin'.
Correct me if I'm wrong. Peace.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Peace. Have been divorced for at least the past 2 years. She divorced him quietly and told the press at least a year after it happened - check back issue of People magazine. She got real tired of his constant battles with the bottle.
As for Bobby and Whitney as I said they get down together so of course they would stay together - read what I wrote - they are 2 peas in a pod.

do you honestly believe they stuck it out for the right reasons and not political ambitions?
i seriously do not trust those two and i think it's definitely the latter but that's just me.
