I like Missy...a lot...but it seems WAY too early in her career for her to be on any kind of hip-hop "honors" list.

the show is swiftly distancing itself from honoring strictly old school cats, as the reality is VH1 needs newer artists to get adverstising dollars, and a lot of rappers didn't want to be on a show associated with the old school for fear that their presence would be seen as admitting their career is over and done with. Strange but true.

I wouldn't be surprised if, from here on in, there was only ever one or two early Hip Hop artists included.

That makes sense. Still, it cheapens the idea that this is a hip-hop "honors" show. At this rate, they'll be honoring 50 Cent and Kanye West in about two to three years.

Doug,Dj 138, I do agree with you both in regards to your comments about the pre-requistes for being selected to be honored for any hiphop Honor type award, I feel a cat/young lady/crew,Etc, Has to put in at least 20 years to be considered in regards to tenure, Along with the artists,Crew,Etc, Impact on hiphop(Not Rap), What i mean is, What has a artist, crew,Etc, Contributed

To hiphop in regards to rhyming for the community, Being down with hiphop related functions(Like the Zulu Nation Throwdowns in the summers at Crotona park in the Bronx and the Zulu Nation Throwdowns in November in the Bronx and at The Kennedy Center on 135st and 5thave Uptown/Harelm,

During The Thanksgiving holiday), Along with the throwdowns that Christie Z(Fabels wife), Has(Called,Tools of war), All around New York in the summers(The past 3 years in the Bronx,Crotona park, Kings park in Jamaica,Queens), Or, the Throwdowns that The Treacherous 3 have at St.Nicholas Park(130thst and St.Nicolas ave), Etc, Shit, I can sell plates(Give me a good beat and i can get a cat to go for his on the mic/LOL), I'm building about a cats,Young Ladies,Crew, Etc, Impact and contributions to hiphop(Not Rap), Doug,Dj 138, We all know the VH1 hiphop awards show is mad setup like the movies(Word/LOL), We all know that, When Russell Simmons,Run-DMC were allover the first show a few years ago/LOL, But, At

Least someone, Please Acknowledge cats,Crews, young ladies like the Coldcrush 4(Even if it takes up a few minutes),Treacherous 3,CrashCrew,Mercedes Ladies,Les Love,Woody Wood,Infinity Machine,Disco Twins,Fearless 4,Disco 4,BusyBee Starski,Master Don and the Committee/Rip, Johnny Wa and Rayvon(Magnifcient 7 from Uptown/Harlem),Young Sound Masters from Castle Hill ave in The Bronx, Etc, But, At least there are some functions that include oldschool cats

(Like the Old school Hiphop tour in the Bronx, And, Uptown/Harlem, Hosted by Grandmaster Caz, The Hiphop Honors Celebrity basketball game at LIU in Brookkyn(Which should be mad comedy/LOL), On the Low, One cat suiting up in the Celebrity basketball game that can really play, Is LA Sunshine(Treacherous 3), LA Sunshine used to play for Riverside church in the late 70's(Along with Dj Easy Lee, Who was nice with his too back in the 70's/LOL).
