I never, ever thought I would see this. I have the last 11 Final Fours on tape (in their entireities). This one's the sweetest.
I feel like Al McGuire did in 1977. In tears of joy. graemlins/mecry.gif

I had tears in my eyes...
Congrats to the CUSE! props to Boeheim's decision to foul kansas big men, graves went 2-7 and collison went 3-10 langford was 5-10. that was a brilliant coaching strategy that won the game

I feel like Al McGuire did in 1977. In tears of joy. graemlins/mecry.gif I use to tape them until Keith Smart f*cked up my tape. I didn't dare tape this one because I was scared. I also did not tape the Kentucky game with John Wallace.
No matter, I'll have the memory for life.
I guess we can't call Boheim (sp?) a shitty coach anymore.
One sad counter note, though. Its been recently rumored that Syracuse's basketball program has not graduated a single black athlete over the past 6 years. In comparison, Duke's program over the same 6 years has a better than 90 percent graduation rate. Food for thought.

Water Cooler banter:
Graduation..why go to college?...Not ready as a person for the NBA.
BS..Carmelo Anthony is a man amongst boys.
The argument for young players to get their education is such jealousy & BS...I dont hear anyone crying that loud about the other 99% of males who dont go to college.
That one was for the Sherm, DC, Billy Owens, Moten..and Conrad McRae.

[snip...]why go to college?...Not ready as a person for the NBA.[snip...]The argument for young players to get their education is such jealousy & BS...[QB]You made the point in the beginning. Why stay and graduate because one is not ready for life in the NBA. A college education prepares you for life after basketball. Unless these players G-off in a big way, then they wind up poor after the bright lights go out.
But I wasn't talking about the entire NCAA Division I basketball program. I was really just talking about my alma mater. If there is a shread of truth to any of it, then it is a disgrace.
I run into the brothers that graduate from the B'ball program from time-to-time. First, you see them when they get on campus - rough. But, after the academic experience, they come across as polished and well read. An education never hurt nobody.
[qb]That one was for the Sherm, DC, Billy Owens, Moten..and Conrad McRae. Sherm, DC, Billy were the ones who got short changed.
Peace

Jim Nantz: Hinrich starts inside, goes outside. Hinrich gets it. Hinrich puts up the shot. It's too long, and SYRACUSE IS YOUR NATIONAL CHAMPION.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, y'all, but I'm at home takin' the day off from work, and I am runnin' this tape to death.

Sorry, y'all, but I'm at home takin' the day off from work, and I am runnin' this tape to death. two things i noticed, every shot McNamara took in the first half was contested.
another play, was when the score was 37-47 at the end of the first half and miles was going to the cup on a fast break, mcmamara slides under and gets the charge, which was the wrong call. they waive off the layup, mcnamara gets the rock and hits a three now its 37-50, thirteen up. so if they get the call right, miles gets a three point play, 40-47, kansas is 7 down mcmanara gets two fouls and goes out of the game and doesn't get that three.
at that point you know it was syracuse' night
