Fist Of The White Lotus and definitely Five Deadly Venoms. There's a trilogy I think..One of the others is called Crippled Avengers then there's another one..hmm..anyone know the title?..Might be Return Of 5 Deadly Venoms? Is Master Of The Flying Guillotine the one where there's a human sized mantis fightin'?

You know I love you guys but some of these picks ...arrrrg. I know I'm a bit of a Karate/Kung Fu movie snob but sorry I can't take gratuitous flying and don't care for a lot of weapons flicks (Duel to the Death was hottt). My Favorite ever was Return of (or Way of ) the Dragon when Bruce whups Chuck Norris' ass! The Shogun Assasin series (which Lone Wolf and Cub was an in stallment of) wasn't my style but the first one had me cracking up when he was running under the ninjas like they were fly balls! Jet Li's flicks were cool ... Loved the Gordon Liu flicks and Dance of the Drunk Mantis ! Boo to any that mentioned any David Chiang or Jimmy Wang Yu movies! And no Fearless Fighters either.....condescending rant off.

I can't help it bro. I get into the hokey stuff as well as a bad-ass going toe to toe with a chump. Also, Jimmy Wang Yu, David Chiang, and Ti Lung used to make everything they did look cool, even the ridiculous shit. I remember seeing Jimmy jump up in the air on a mofo and then, the scene just froze for about 10 seconds before he kicked dude in the grill. We laughed our asses off. I think that was from an impossible to find flick called The Screaming Tiger. The goofy shit was always part of the fun and grindhouse flavor and we used to eat it up back in the day.

Okay.... I can't resist. Here is a list of some of my favorite Hong Kong Action (mostly without Martial Arts) flicks:

Infernal Affairs Trilogy (Scorcese openly ripped The Departed from this series)
John Woo's Hard Boiled (The best action flick ever)
John Woo's The Killer (The second best)
John Woo's A Better Tomorrow 1-2
Tsui Hark's A Better Tomorrow 3
Return To A Better Tomorrow
Johnnie To's Election 1-2 (Triad Election)
Johnnie To's Exiled
Johnnie To's The Mission
Cop On A Mission
A Hero Never Dies
Colour Of The Truth
Fulltime Killer
Running Out Of Time 1-2
Big Bullet
Full Alert
The Longest Nite
Century Of The Dragon
The Dragon Family
Initial D (Fast And The Furious 3 owes a lot to this flick)
The Legend Of Speed (The Fast And The Furious ripped from this one big time)
Rich And Famous
Tragic Hero
Once A Thief
Throwdown (Hong Kong cats using Judo)
Tokyo Raiders
Seoul Raiders
Casino Raiders 1-2
Heat Team
A True Mob Story

Most of these films are subtitled Chinese crime joints with heavy gunplay. You can check for them on Amazon if interested. They usually get lumped in with Martial Arts movies in stores anyway, so I figured I'd hit you guys off with some other HK shit. I'm pretty sure that many of you are familiar with some of these, especially John Woo's pre-Hollywood bangers. I just had to include some of these bad boys after briefly mentioning them earlier.

I remember dat! :grinyes: Two guys who start off as adversaries, team up to fight the bad guys, but they both die, at the end. One stops to cough, and gets a bamboo pole rammed through him. Saw this flick when I was 11.

The movie that you describe is Duel Of The Iron Fists which is definitely one of my faves. I need to watch Sacred Knives Of Vengeance again but I remember the main guy surviving at the end of It.

Maybe, you cats can help me. There was this big epic fight scene flick with the venoms in it.

The story goes: A big Chinese Dynasty is assaulting the Shaolin monks. the monks in turn teachs young men in the surrounding community different styles (ie. jumping ability, tough skin, killer punch, etc) of kung fu.
At the end of the movie is a big fight scene. It involves the dynasty's soldiers versus the monks and students.

Anybody knows this one?

have to recommend from the Shaw Bros.

Man Of Iron Warrior Of Steel

A followup to Boxer From Shantung with the same cast.

Chen Kuan Tai rides his motorcycle through the local mob boss' front window to ask his son's lady out on a date while picking broken glass out of his hand and revving his motorcycle in the middle of their livingroom.

Non stop fighting like smashing a bicycle wheel over a guy's head and using his body to block attackers.

great cheesy dialogue

"I am honored, it's been a long time since I had an entire knife gang set against me"

CLASSIC 1972 Kung Fu flick. Fits in with other great films mentioned already.
