About emergency rooms across the country.I dislike the place with passion!not only do you have to go to triage, but after that they stick you in a room full of people coughing, bleeding, sneezzing, etc. Then after 4 hours they call you for registraction. Then they send you back to the waiting room.Another wait for 5 hrs before getting called into the main room.Meanwhile I see ambulance after ambulance of people that aint really in need of one, just to get in quicker.I understand that someone may be sick or hurt than I,but c'mon now..5 hrs? After all this drama you finally go to the main room to be seen, only to wait another 30mins-45mins before a Doctor show up and wait another 45mins for the medication. On top of that the Hospital personel really get slick when they request unnessary test. From blood work to X-rays.I tell you what Id rather drop dead then do this again..lol Finally when you have a diagnose of the problem, the patient still have to wait for an additional 1-2hrs just to get a discharge paper..lol I dont know my peeps, but most of us here should practice politics, lawyers and doctors to even car mechancics, that way all areas are coverd..lol :D smile.gif

well place the blame on an underfunded and overtaked (workload wise) area of society. the people going by you from ambulances are more than likely trauma's that DO need immidiate care, or at least an immidiate check up (car accidents, fainting, etc).
the tests are more than likely not uneeded at all, and trust me on that b/c it's not like the hospital or physician makes a profit on your x-ray and tests (if you're on an HMO)
it's uncomfortable for a reason, and the root cause has to do with the bottom line of your providers, not over taxed hospitals.

I hate all emergency rooms too (and please don't ever have to visit one on a holiday) , with the exception of one here in Baltimore that seems to be the best kept secret around, they guarantee to get you in and and seen by a doctor in 45 minutes or less.
I hate them. My grandmother is 93; she fell two weeks ago and was taken to the hospital to make sure she was OK. My mother and grandmother sat in the fvckin waitin room for 4 hours...they never saw my grandmother. They ended going to my grandmother's private doctor the next day. mad1.gif

HAHAHAHAH my peeps are some comedians..lol I hear you.Its one thing to have trauma and need to be seen right away, its another to see a person smile and flirt with the ambulance driver while walking into the ER.Understaffed?yes I agree, but some of these people can do better to serve.Split the emergency room in 3 sections,One for pediatrics, trauma section(heart attacks, gun shot wounds, etc) and one for non-emergency purposes.I think thats one option.More than half the people that go to the emergency room dont need immediate help, but in any case waiting 5-8 hrs to be seen with obvious severe pain is unacceptable.Id rather die then go again.
