This is the best approach to landing a guest spot IMO! If this fails I'll subject myself to paying the resident to let me play!!!!
Please baby baby baby, please!!!!!!!

Hey, stop biting my approach... you owe me some royalties for that approach... :D
Let me see if I can work on this....damn, I seem to always be the one working on shit like this....hey, where's the rest of y'all promoters....here's a novel idea: Jersey promoters can find a spot in NYc and promote NJ djs in NYc....do I have to do all the thinking around here?

hahaha biggrinangel.gif ...yup. Plus it's just the same as finding gigs in NJ... you hang there, get to know the people and work from there. Same thing for NYC, hang there, find the right people, and work from there. I'm a NJ DJ, with no probs in NYC... if I can do it anyone can... graemlins/cheering.gif

I agree w/ Keith, best bet is to go out to the spots your interested in playing at, meet the people who run it, have fun, have a few drinks and take it from there. Most importantly talk to people and keep your ear to the ground. Sometimes just being in the right place at the right time will be enough to get your spot. I know this is not a guarenteed to work concept but it is an effective way to break down some walls.
Best of luck,
Mike

Best of luck,
Mike Here's another novel idea: When you decide to go to these parties to meet, greet, and hobnob, try not to only talk and hang with your NJ buddies, it defeats the purpose why you are there...am I hitting too close to home with these ideas?
