I mean what is vanity anyway? Why is it a bad thing? Is being humble about your being a punk thing to do or is it virturous? (sp)

I have been on both sides of the fence. Vanity could sometimes be confused with self confidence Actually a humble or modest person is self confident because they like who they are and don't really pay attention to what other people think. This has been an issue for me since I've been re-thinking and changing some of my character. What I don't understand is how could you give so much power to people's opinion of you that it rules your life. People bondage is a very bad thing and when it is all said and done the people that had something to say were actually worse off than you.

Don't get me wrong I care about how my children see me and if I am being a good role model for them. A part from that I've learned that I had a lot less friends being a butthole than being an honest more humble person. For those that know me I can still hold my ground, I won't be pushed around but I have a more humble approach of doing it ;) I have realized that sometimes when you hold your peace your hold your ground.

Anyway I really want to know from others here how do you feel about vanity. Would you consider yourself to be vain or modest? Or is it safe to safe that some of us are too vain to notice :rolleyes:

I would consider myself being extremely modest to the point of seeming insecure. When I was a kid, I was constantly teased for being too tall and thin. Now that I've grown up (and filled out), there is still that gawky kid inside who thwarts every attempt at me having a healthy self-image.

No gf you are not vain just aware of your femininity (sp). I still walk in 2 - 3 inch heels at 7 months pregnant because flats make my back hurt. Now is that vain or just crazy?

Only a few years old. There are comfortable ones out there - When you try them on in the store and walk around, THERE MUST BE NO PINCH ON THE BABY TOE WHATSOEVER ... Can't emphasize that one enough. Lol ... I've fudged up many times though.
Plus ... Vaseline therapy keeps the toeses close to roses. ;)
