They both are good Deecarr. Torq is half the price of serrato with much of the same features. I'm gonna roll with torq.

i've had serato for two yrs never had a problem worth the money don't always look at the price. serato have a lotta free downloads to correct certain problems an it keeps you up to date.

Torq just started to charge $$$ for their infrequent updates... and that is besides the fact that it is plastic toy-like unit. Serato updates have always been free and it is the industry standard with, by far, the most permanent installations in clubs worldwide.
You could buy a Numark or Vestax turntable for less money (with some 'whiz-bang' features), but the reliability and quality of a Technic 1200 make it the only REAL choice.
See what I mean?

I did some research on Torq yesterday
seems to be more stable w mac than wintel. I shekked the users forum and read mixed reviews from users.
I like the xponent interface but as of this time Serato seems to have an edge - so imma go with that

I did Final Scractch 1 (sucked) and Final Scratch 2 (better for a while...won't work with new Mac OS) and I've been using M-Audio Torq for almost a year, without any problems.
I have a new Traktor Scratch system, but haven't had the time to dive into it, and since Torq has been working....why "f" with a good thing.
OH....I've also used Serato a few times, and respect that tool too.
To me, this is the next best thing to bringing vinyl...but you can bring soooo much more. When I was touring Japan last month, one of my gigs was supposed to be a 2 hour set....then they asked me to play 1 more....I thought they were talking about 1 more record...they meant 1 more HOUR. No problem, I had my whole library of music with me.
I know a lotta peeps have gone to CDs, and was a little surprised when I was spinning at Nikki Beach in Cabo, when a friend of mine pulled out hsi Serato system. I was like, "I thought you did CDs?". He told me that everytime he came to Mexico they charged him import tax on EVERY CD after the first 10. Even though they were CD-Rs and he explained that they were his personal property. So bringing in 300 CDs cost him a pretty penny. Now he just carries a laptop and 2 timecoded vinyls....but can also bring 2 timecoded CDs.
It began with one brother playin' his drum at the party, then they started bringin' more drums, then other instruments, then they started playing recorded music on a gramaphone, then records on the juke-box, then turntables and a mixer, then CDs, now computers...move forward or get left behind.
Peeps on the dance floor don't care if it's a real drum, or real vinyl...they just care that you're bringin' the heat.
