RIght now in 2003 there are a lot perfectly produced tracks/songs with live musicians and smooth vocals, and i hear a lot of them on the deephousepages. But what happened with that hardhitting straight up chicago sound.
Never forget that back in the day,,, a 909 and a dx100 was
the only shit that producers got because there wasnt enough money for tight productions. That way of making music, the ruff way,, is a large part of the Chicago (and detroit) tradition.

To know what im talking about,,,, listen to some Izreal tapes,,,

Please dj's,,,, Dont forget where our music is comming from.

Valid point, but "our music" comes from a place much older than that. The "raw house" period was but an age in the evolution that, thankfully, continues. I think I heard someone around here say, "good music is good music, period."

It should be a combo.....

That sound of that 909 is tight but there is, to me, still a certain void in that sound. I aint knocking the tradition, but I'd like to see it mature and expand.

So easy a protic can do it (QUAD)

Yeah, what happened to Relief Records? They ruled in the early/mid 90s.

The approach in music where someone with talent, no matter what musical training, or equipment he has, can do his thing. To me that was, and still is the most important aspect of housemusic.. But it got lost a little on the way..
