not to create a long thread on this or anything, but couldn't one argue that almost everything we listen to has been taken from something else anyway, like house or dance or whatever we boogie to? style of producing records, cover artwork, blah blah, has all come from something else in some shape or form hasn't it?

For sure. There are very few truly original records out there as far as music. I just thought it was interesting to see the original art, and how it inspired the new.
