WERISE in co-sponsorship with the Barnard Center for Research on Women is proud to present:
The 2nd Annual International Women Artists' Conference "Uniting and Thriving!
November 7-9th, 2003 at Barnard College
The conference this year will feature dozens of hands-on, professional development, healing and movement workshops, panels, film screenings, performances, and an international women's
marketplace. Women artists/entrepreneurs from around the globe will be in attendance to share, network, learn, engage, showcase, exhibit,
and develop in a creative and supportive environment. This three-day event kicks off with our Opening Ceremony November 7th at Barnard
College featuring auther/poet/activist Hattie Gossett as our keynote, a special dance tribute to Katherine Dunham, and host of other
treats. Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th are full conference days from 10:30am-7pm. Our conference concludes with a special night event
at Joe's Pub featuring MeShell Ndegeocello, Carol C., Femm Nameless, Imani Uzuri, DJ Rekha and many more! Get your $12 advance tickets through Joe's Pub/ticketmaster, as the price on the day of will be $15. There will much to see, hear, and do--this is a gathering not to be missed! This has nothing to do with your message...but I wanted to ask you are you a Mocha Mom? It's a great national organization for moms of color (women of all races, actually) I think that you'd really enjoy it.

Below please find the conference schedule as well as our evening
events. There is NO DEADLINE for registering or for reserving a
booth. Simply register at the IWAC small works exhibition today,
Wednesday, the Opening Ceremony on Friday, or we'll see you bright
and early on Saturday morning conference day I. You can also register
on Sunday conference day II if you can only come for that day. The
regular fee is $20 per day or $35 for a weekend pass (same rate for
booths). We also have special group rates for 5 people or more which
makes it possible for each person to receive a discount between 20-
35% off! Spread the word...

to 116th St.)Featuring: the incomparable author and activist "hattie

Special guest performances and DJ Jeannie Hopper (WBAI, Liquid Sound
Lounge) will be throwing it down on the turntables. FREE! Come mingle

i'll be there. graemlins/cheering.gif last year's was a phenomenal conference for me...very balanced across the artist , generational, ethnicity, spirituality, sexuality spectrum. all TYPES of ladies doin their thang. see you this weekend.
