Does anybody know if Salsoul is relaunching? I heard about a relaunch party in London coming soon. Sounded a bit weird though - I heard it from www.burnitblue.com (http://www.burnitblue.com) graemlins/conf44.gif

apparently there's a new Danny Krivit Salsoul mix CD out in Japan, so perhaps it's that album getting a global release?

Have heard that Tom Moulton is remixing some old Salsoul classics for a new release.

I also read that they are re-releasing the catalog. Not sure about the source though so it might be a rumor.

There is a new series of official uk pressed issues including originals and unreleased mixes and tracks, all to be re-mastered by Tom Moulton. Not sure what/when, but spoke to the guy today, and there is a party next week I think, so hopefully more details will emerge..

THAT WILL BE SUPER DOPE IF THAT HAPPENS, I OFTEN WHEN TALKING ABOUT MUSIC COMPOSITIONS AND ORCHESTRAL ARRANGEMENTS, REFER TO THEM.
NOT REALLY RELATED TO THE QUESTION.....BUT
DOES ANYONE KNOW SHEP PETTIBONE PERSONALLY OR KNOW IF HE IS STILL AROUND. ONE OF MY DREAMS, IS TO HAVE HIM REMIX ONE OF MY RECORDINGS. IF I EVER MAKE SOMETHING WORTHY OF HIS PERSONAL TOUCH. I AM STILL A FAN OF HIS "D-TRAIN "YOU'RE THE ONE FOR ME REMIX.
THAT IS ALL
PEACE

aside from the Dimitri comp I just saw 2 comps of Walter Gibbons mixes can anyone tell me if either of these is the same as the Disco Madness LP?
Thanks!

Doesn't the Ministry of Sound juggernaut own the rights to all the Salsoul material now?

Thanks! No those are the 2 megamixes he did for Salsoul. The vinyl versions of these are mixed/edited.

Would be nice if they reissued the Disco Madness material on DJ-friendly vinyl though.

I know there are some things in the works right now, involving releasing a(nother) compilation of "quintessential" Salsoul stuff...

I just got the press release and release schedule through the mail.
I haven't the energy to post the details right now, but there is some interesting stuff on the way, but mainly just more of the same...
I guess this is aimed at the new generation as opposed to the existing collectors.

There's been a whole host of Salsoul reissues in Japan in recent weeks / months - Best Ofs from Loleatta Holloway, Instant Funk, Candido, First Choice etc.

Another recent album has been one called 'Salsoul Best Remixes' which includes the best of the remix album from the early-90s and new refixes too...

Skyy - Call me BLAZE rmx
First Choice - Dr Love KERRI CHANDLER rmx
Double Exposure - Everyman JOE CLAUSELL re-edit / rmx

Unfortunately, all three of these tracks have been bootlegged on vinyl in the UK :(

Remastered with acapellas, drum tracks, rhythm tracks, etc. "Hit & Run" and "Jingo" are a couple that I can think of right now that has gotten the rerelease treatment.
