View Full Version : Sauers mispronounced
Chi-town, why did we always say this name of this place , incorrectly. It was suppose to sound like 'Sours' not 'Sawyers'. If you said it correctly, folks didn't know what you was talkin about. :biglaugha:

I work with one of the old owners of that spot Jack Sauer ....and he corrected me too...lol.
"Sour James..."LMAO
I had to ask him if he had anything to do with that spot and he was amazed that I knew about that spot and the connection with his name. When I explained to him how I used to party there as a teen,he just laughed.
after calling it Sawyers for so long, Sauers didn't sound right.

This is like folks who pronounce Prairie st. "Pah-rarie"
Site of the infamous Izod and Polo Fests, among many other parties.
