Hey all, am doing a run for charity - 10-12 miles of extreme off road running at an army base camp down in the south of England... Here are some links:

we are running for:

a worthy charity to suffer for!! am aiming to do it in just over 2 hours - nowhere near the top times but this isn't an ordinary road race lol!

If i can be so cheeky as to ask for any donations at all - big or small then anything would be greatly appreciated!

just got back from this and wasn't expecting that!!! it was insane.... nearly collapsed over the line... it wasn't a normal run at all, first 5/6 miles were fairly ok, normal trails, bit muddy in some places, bit hilly - most people were on their hands and knees scrambling up then... got to about 7 miles in, turned round the corner and nearly screamed at what i saw!! haha

a bog (pond) of black, rank, standing water about 50ft long was waiting for us - i swear to god they put sticks and ice in there, my feet kept on banging against things, just didn't want to put my hands in there at all - this bog came nearly up to my chest and I'm 6ft tall! staggered out of that then up and down sandy hills (they are worse than normal hills!)... goin up one hill and got to the top and there was no way to go but downnnnnnnnnnnn! the marshal was shouting theres loads of ways down but only one direction to go!! so just went for it, sat down and slide down this big fuck off hill... right into a river that wasn't as bad as the previous one...

anyhow, after that up and down more hills and more bogs turned another corner and saw these sand dunes... hard enough to run up and down anyway, but when ur cold, soaking wet, stinking it just gets depressing! haha... got to the end in 1 hr 55 mins 30 secs, not bad for 10.5 miles and no practice! goin back next year for sure! :)

slightly ironic thing it was at an army base haha, kept on hearing shots from people practising near to where the race was which was worrying...
