THE COOK COUNTY SHERIFF ’S MERIT BOARD
Will issue applications for the positions of:
Deputy Sheriff or Correctional Officer
Applications will be distributed on
Saturday, November, 3rd, 2007 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
on a first come, first serve basis until exhausted.
Applications will be available at four (4) locations:
Criminal Court Administration Building
2650 S. California, Chicago, Illinois
Markham Court Building
16501 S. Kedzie Parkway, Markham, Illinois
Maywood Court Building
1500 Maybrook Drive, Maywood, Illinois
Rolling Meadows Court Building
2121 Euclid, Rolling Meadows, Illinois
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent G.E.D. from an accredited institution, have a valid driver’s license acceptable to the Merit Board, and pass all the required testing procedures conducted by the Merit Board.
The Sheriff’s Department will require further screening of a certified applicant such as psychological, polygraph, and any other such test as they may require prior to hiring. Notice of these tests will be mailed to eligible applicants at a later date. A $25.00 Cook County Filing Fee made payable by money order or certified check only to the Cook County Collector will be needed with the completed application to be processed. Completed applications may be returned on day of pass out, or to the Sheriff’s Merit Board Office, Room 1100, 69 W. Washington, between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday or by U.S. Mail. All applications received on November 3rd, 2007 should be completed and returned by December 7th, 2007.
