HAHA yeeeahh. I play piano and keyboards, and work in the studio, the only time my hands see calluses is when I tune my old wurlitzer electric piano, and I'm tightening the tuning nuts with all my might.
I spent the better part of a year renovating my apartment, knocking down walls, replacing everything, heavy construction 24/7 and living in the place. At one point i was putting these glass blocks in and they fit so tightly i was banging on them with my bare hands (i was always doing stupid shit like that and fucking myself up). I woke up in the morning with my pinky locked against my palm and had to crack it back up. This continued for the next couple months every morning working that thing out, a condition I now know is called "trigger finger." I can't tell you how many times I used a razor & tweezers to retrieve metal splinters in my fingers and under my nails, cuts and bruises were the norm. My hands were a wreck back then.
since I need my hands to survive, I'm in no rush to fuck them up again. I don't even have insurance... soooo I'll let you run your carpentry experiment without me. one false move and I'm flipping burgers at McDs

I do lots of manual stuff for my art related endeavours. Mostly carpentry and such for framing, strectching canvases, etc... I love that kind of work.

My hands are really rough - mostly from riding a bike out of working hours + I do alot of digging too.

I keep my hands smooth for dealing with the fairer sex......my strong grip counteracts anything that may suggest:rofl5:

I don't mind soft hands as long as you have a firm handshake.
