Lola are you in DC or Chicago? What's going on with the reparations gathering this year? Did you attend last year...that's if you are in DC...Anybody that's in DC and has information please feel free to respond...

i'm in dc (family is in chicago). i didn't go to the gathering last year and hadn't heard anything about the event(s) this year.

i'm not sure about the reparations issue. it's the one thing (in my personal universe) that i have not yet formed an opinion on. the arguments seem all over the place. i'd like to talk in depth about it with folks who know the issues and implications. perhaps i could get a discussion panel together...
