I've seen your name posted on a few long crazy threads also. "End the thread..... graemlins/rofl.gif

It was more than just his decision making. Whether it's him, the fan, Gonzalez, Prior, Wood, or whoever, everybody loves to point the finger. The team didn't execute when they HAD to, and the better team won the series. Luck might help you win one game, but the better team always wins a seven game series. Right now, Florida is the better team. I hate to say it, but they're alive, and the Cubs are done for the year. It was a great year for the Cubs, and the beginning of what could be a dynasty for years to come. Only time will tell.....JMJ smile.gif

I don't know if the better team won. I think the better manager won (imho). It got to a point where I was learning Dusty's pattern. Saying to myself every game, "is he gonna wait until the 8th inning with the bases loaded before he decides to get someone in the bullpen.
The Cubs had a 5-3 lead and the momentum. It was obvious from the first inning, when Wood threw several wild pitches, that he wasn't gonna last the whole game. By the fourth inning he had already throw 77 pitches.
But the Marlins coach got his starting pitcher out immediately and used fresh pitchers to maintain his lead.
Quite honestly the game could have ended in Game 6. Take Pryor out in the 7th inning when they had 2 on base and use Wood then. At least for a inning or two.
I'm a s graemlins/conf44.gif alty non Cub fan.
