Trick or Treaters--

This is a show that has been in the works for nearly two months, and we've been running rehearsals for the past two weeks. So those of you have been looking for an event that will get you out of your seat dancing and give the biggest bang for your buck, this is it!

Dia de los Muertos

Featuring live performances by: Farbeon (Blow Up Co-Op), Rabbi Darkside (Speakeasy) and Hired Gun (ESP Collective)

Hosted by: Ill Spoken (Freestyle Mondays at Sin Sin Lounge)

When: Thursday, October 30, 2003, doors at 10:00pm

Showcase Performances: 10:30pm - 12:00am, DJ Drilla on the decks till close

Where: Bowery Poetry Club (308 Bowery btwn Bleeker and Houston, F to 2nd ave, 6 to Bleeker)

Cost: $5

The pre-Halloween sweetness is deep on this one. The night will be a movement in three acts, full of brand new collaborative material, loaded with special guests and live instrumentation, hosted by the Ill-est freeestlyer around and orchestrated to a light-headed tightness. We'll also be recording this show, on both digital video and audio through the sound board, which is a true treat. In addition to all this fantasmagoric-ness, we'll also have DRINK SPECIALS:
$3 Rotating Draught Beers (a different special beer each act, to fit the mood) and $4 Mohjitos all night!!!

If you can make it to any event, ever, in the history and future of the world, please make it to this one! The good vibes will be oozing out of the speakers so come soak them up. And the flyer (which is ill so check out the attachment) doesn't lie: we'll be starting the showcases as close to 10:30pm as humanly (or ghoulishly) possible, so get there at 10:00 and get your drizzle on.

Please spread the word, bring some pals along and be a part of an amazing night!

peace, blessings, respect and BOO!

Farbeon

Yo

I must say, Matt did his thing last night. And I'm not just saying this becuz he put a mix of mine on his "ghost-sax" website.

All the MCs in the place had some game, some more than others. But yo, his boy Illspoken has some serious freestyle and crowd-control skills, and his flow is no-joke. I was actually impressed, and I'm one jaded mother fvcker. They had a nice crowd up in there and the whole setup seemed surprisingly on-point and not-ghetto. After the formal performances, they did this insane freestyle cypher on stage with this kid beatboxing AND making a beat with a freakin' Didgereedoo while Drilla cut shit up at like 140 bpm. It was some real-deal shit. Nicely done. Despite widespread reports, he is not a complete herb. At the end of night he made a custom Halloween-mix that was SO SCARY he drove everyone out of the club. Props.
