Best Jazz club on a friday?

I got a friend in town who wants to hit up a jazz club.

Is Green Mill good on fridays?

I don't know much about Jazz in Chicago.

Blues either for that matter, so any recomendations would be appreciated!!!

Sorry I'm too late for Friday. The Green Mill's good but you should try to get out to our premier jazz club, The Jazz Showcase (http://www.jazzshowcase.com), this weekend. You also may want to look at Hothouse, 31 E. Balbo Dr. Jason Moran is there this weekend with Von Freeman. That matchup puts one of the hot new cats with our own great veteran.
