Just wanted to say that I have heard the whole thing and, as always, she does her thing. Don't sleep on it! Officially dropping Sept 16th:

Heard the cut that's been playing on the radio, I hope the album sounds nothing like that crap.
Radio Friendly nonsense because her previous album (SLAMMIN might I add) did not get much air play.

Def more radio friendly, yes. She even covers Donald Byrd's "Think Twice."

There are some songs that just need to be left alone, let them wonder off in the woods never to be dealt with again.

After a few more listens, I can honestly say that this album is not on par with her previous efforts. It's still good, yes, especially track four which I GUARANTEE is going to get the remix treatment once heads hear it. Very uptempo and dance friendly (and over 10 minutes long!). If you liked her single, "Danger," you will love this album. Overall, cop it, but don't expect another "Orange Moon" type track. Peace ....

There are some songs that just need to be left alone, let them wonder off in the woods never to be dealt with again. I think Erykah did a good job with the Johnny Hammond tunes she sampled on the last album and the covers she's done in the past. You're too harsh man!!! :D

Like Mary J. Blige (damn, can I even say the two names together? Sorry, Erykah) Badu's best work came from pain. She's all happy now. So who knows what'll be on this album. Cause Mary's happy ass just put out a CD full of GARBAGE. Give me strung out on coke, just broke with K.C., Mary anyday.

Marys CD aint any more garbagy than any of her others.....but watching that DVD that came with it...lets just say "ODB ON PAROLE" comes off like a portrait of Malcolm X in comparison IF you feel what I'm saying...Mary is one F'D up chick. Fo'REALA.
(back on topic) I am enjoying the SHIZ out of "Worldwide Underground" I actually SMILED when I heard the FUNK YOU UP remake disguised as a "Love of my Life" remix. Wow. I'm picturing young Angie Stone in her tight gold outfit with the long hair right now.....ghetto FAB~!!

This is just from start to finish, a BRILLIANT album. And so what if it's radio friendly? ALL the classic LPs of the past 30 or so years have been radio friendly....it just depended on WHICH RADIO STATION YOU LISTENED TO...

I'm listening right now on real media so far the
"I want you"track (why she didn't let the end of this track play wich was gonna really funk out graemlins/conf44.gif is beyond me) is the bumper 4 me but so far cool
plan on checking it out...but what was wrong with her a the lady of soul awards? was she zonked out or what? i, as well as everyone in the audience, felt really, really embarrased for her... graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

One listen in I give it a solid B+, that might rise with repeated listens as I really liked all that I heard, it's just that, I want more. I think one of the reasons it suffers next to Mama's Gun is that as an EP, Worldwide Underground, is a less expansive creative statement and as such leave this listener wishing it was.

I'll be picking Ms. Badu up on Friday. Will reserve my comments until I have listened to the entire disc.

This is HOT! SEQUENCE's "Funk You Up"
I like "Bump It" also. Zap Mama & Caron Wheeler(Back to Life) on BV's. This was definately worth the $7.99. Thanks for lowering the price Universal

Aight'... so the promo's were out in Jul., & I really thought that since there was a major lack of thoroughly written material on it - that the promo was more on a snippet tip. When I found out that it was the actual full-length joint (I can't front!), I was madd as hell!!!!! graemlins/cussing.gif Nope, can't say I'm wit' it as of yet, & I've been listening to it since Jul., thinkin' "Damm!, I can't wait for her shit to drop"! E-Boogie is one of me #1's, & whateva' Worldwide Underground is... it's not very creative to me. How do you go from Mama's Gun to that? graemlins/conf44.gif I'll support this no doubt, but if the next one gets any weaker, then she's gonna' end up goin' on the wack rack fo'real! graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

I'm gonna pick this up probably tonight. Haven't heard all of the cuts but I'm hoping to hear more good work coming from this album.
If it's "Blips and Bleeps" nonsense, expect this album to get major air play for a good 6 to 8 months, not like Mama's gun, who's biggest rekkid (Bag Lady) was actually a remix (funny isn't it).
Peace

Peace You may be in for disappointment, sir. I still think it's quite solid, but def not on the Mama's Gun tip.
There were like 5 people ahead of me at Circuit City last night and all had a copy of her EP. Hope it makes it to the top of the charts.
