SERATO users: version 1.8 beta is hot!

I just started testing and using the 1.8 version of Serato they've released. You can now analyze and play your music without the device attached to your computer. You can set loops and everything without hooking your laptop up to your system first. Wait until you see the new auto loop function(you still gotta' know how to catch a beat tho--lol).

Question: So I don't need the Serato box to actually MIX live with the Serato program?

Yes you still do. But if you're on the go(plane, etc). You can analyze new songs or play them through a new internal player that the software has and set your loops, etc right there.

AAC (non-protected) files now supported. Which means you can now play the higher bit rate ITunes store files without converting to mp3 :thumbsup:.

In the link that studio posted, the links are in the forum called "Scratch LIVE 1.8.0 Public Beta 2" at the bottom. One for Windows and one for Mac.

Right now Traktor seems to be the choice of audiofiles. But Serato is always improving w/new versions and as has been said many times is currently the standard piece of equipment for digital dj's.

I can put it this way. Personally I havn't out grown serato and don't even know what I'm missing with out Traktor. But I'm sure Traktor is what's up.
