I'm still trying to sort out what the fuck I saw. The movie left me scratching my head and I'm not sure if I liked it or not. I do know it was not worth full price though.

I like them all for different reasons. Sheeut, "The Ladykillers" was on cable this weekend and I re-watched that for the first time since it played in theaters in spring 2004. Still hilarious.

yeah
there were quiet moments
but, those quiet moments gave dramatic impact to the things that happened. definately not something that would put someone to sleep.....

The film was really good, imo. That, Superbad, and American Gangsta are the best films I've seen this year, outside of What Would Jesus Buy.

I loved this movie. The scene when he's sitting with Woody - please - I have never been so afraid of a telephone ringing! The tension was intense! It was an awesome film; a great villan (oxymoron?) and I love that there was no Hollywood ending. SPOILER ALERT: I swore dude was going to be alive in the end and run off w/ wifey and the millions. It was awesome.

I was confused by the ending and left wishing I had paid more attention to the dialogue. That being said the film is awesome and the acting is excellent. Bardem's character is twisted and creepy, and you never really know what he is going to do when he comes on screen. That scene with the gas station owner was intense too.

Barton Fink is about the most brilliant film I've ever seen.

That poor dude was so confused. What a believable character moment. I was feeling bad for that gas station owner. You could smell the nervous sweat on him! Ill Villan Ill!!!

Sailing to Byzantium
THAT is no country for old men. The young
In one another's arms, birds in the trees
- Those dying generations - at their song,
The salmon-falls, the mackerel-crowded seas,
Fish, flesh, or fowl, commend all summer long
Whatever is begotten, born, and dies.
Caught in that sensual music all neglect
Monuments of unageing intellect.
An aged man is but a paltry thing,
A tattered coat upon a stick, unless
Soul clap its hands and sing, and louder sing
For every tatter in its mortal dress,
Nor is there singing school but studying
Monuments of its own magnificence;
And therefore I have sailed the seas and come
To the holy city of Byzantium.
O sages standing in God's holy fire
As in the gold mosaic of a wall,
Come from the holy fire, perne in a gyre,
And be the singing-masters of my soul.
Consume my heart away; sick with desire
And fastened to a dying animal
It knows not what it is; and gather me
Into the artifice of eternity.
Once out of nature I shall never take
My bodily form from any natural thing,
But such a form as Grecian goldsmiths make
Of hammered gold and gold enamelling
To keep a drowsy Emperor awake;
Or set upon a golden bough to sing
To lords and ladies of Byzantium
Of what is past, or passing, or to come.
