Time to put your thinking cap on mate!
I was reading about "re-entry" records you played at the loft and wondered about any examples?
As these are often my favourite kind of records...can I have some examples?
I know Ozo - Anambra and Aeo - Brian Briggs...but what about some others?

Catch u on the rebound - gatta graemlins/bolt.gif

Ps.
re-entry begins somewhere around the point when you are two thirds of the way. so if we are talking about 9 hour party then after about 6 hours you start your rentry. Ozo is when your toes touch the earth again. We could be talking about a lot of records here. Remember it is very gradual....

is this some kind of musical journey progression theory according to David? Please elaborate! What do you mean by re-entry?
is there anything else to it?
maybe there is a webpage..

I remember Club when re-entry was something that involved trying to come back into the club without paying.....or some other nasty shit that got you slapped.....
I can see it now, I'm at a party ten years from now, and some young whippersnapper is telling the trainspotters around the booth "ok, I'm about to go into the re-entry format now" and hearing somebody yell out "RE-ENTRY, RE-ENTRY.....YEAAAAHHHHHH!!!"....or worse, a new genre of club music will be born and listed under "the RE-ENTRY" section at your local music store.
oh boy.....this is how it starts...stop the train, let me off here....stop the madness.... graemlins/jpshakehead.gif graemlins/bolt.gif

Using far eastern concepts regarding spiritual journeys, .....some which are used with chanting OM as an example (the spiritual source of all sound) -- three bardos are referred too. This has been going on for thousands of years to this day Ray, nothing new "hear." There are three Bardos....the third Bardo is refered to as "re-entry."
The one you are refering to in no way applies to what has been said. NO RE-ENTRY is an opposite term.
Re-entry is a mental and emotional event ... not a physical one. It applies to re-entering back to the so called "norm" day to day routines and so forth.
For example....when a musical journey is in full bloom it can become a delicate matter when the music finally has to stop. A bad re-entry is that the party is going on ...all is well and then it is closing time and suddenly without warning the music is shut off and the lights come on and you more or less have been told to get the FOK out. That is an extreme example of a bad re-entry and I have seen it done many times. That one sec that the sound is turned off from full volumn and lights come on can ruin your head for that entire evening. Get my drift?
Now a bad entry/and or beginning I believe is when you walk into a room and the DJ is blasting the music and no one is there or just maybe 5 people or so and the eve just began. That makes no sense to me at all.
A DJ should be the calm center not the cause of chaos and pain. One has to think "outside the booth" sometimes.

You can kept the choas cause there is plenty of that going around in the world today and I don't want or need any more...I rather the music blow my mind instead of having someone acting in a dictorial mode....I'll think and act for myself.
The DJ is not God, .....rather the Music is. After all isn't it about peace and harmony rather than chaos or what someone wants to control us with? The music should be allowed stand on its own....the DJ should stand by that as a faithfull friend.

You mean dictator in the sense that the dj has the equipment, records etc and you listen to what he/she plays? True, not a democracy in that sense.

Are you calling me a whippersnapper Ray? Hope so! I'm 32 in a few weeks and it'd be nice to think I can still whippersnap with the best of them.
I asked the question because I was reading about David's idea of the three stages...and was interested in some examples of records he considers 're-entry' records like Anambra - just interested in finding out some more records like this that maybe I don't know. I guess it's sort of train spotting but it's more about finding out about great music.

Could it be people are wising up to the fact that $15 or $20 to go see a DJ who probably will play 96% crap music isn't worth it, and they can hear what they want to hear at the aforementioned venue?

This is simply about surrendering to the glory of the music. Nothing less and nothing more.
It is also about shedding one's ego and become one with everything.
I strongly suggest you look into "The Tibetan Book of the Dead" [Ego-death) Goes back thousand s of years from our ancestors -- it is about rebirth. The fokin idea is to get away from the damn ego ... so that we won't turn into something inert.
Anyway, this is bigger than the both of us.

ok, here goes...let's end this little game...
sometimes I like the 3 bardos act and sometimes I like the reckless abandonment(a complete surrender of inhibitions)presentations....there is a time and place for it all, but I think it's boring if we should only go with one way and take it as gospel. No ego there, just giving an opinion. I find it a little elitist to criticize one method over the other.

Excuse me......BUTT u r in mechanical mode (and I do smell a butt) ....and remember unless you recorded that music you are presenting then get over it .....surrender to the music if that is what you truly say you love and do it from the very bottom of your heart and soul.

Next time try not to slam the door when you leave.
There are good games and there are bad games.
I believe that you could have said what you said above earlier rather than making some of us jump thru loops....but then again I am so sure if you mean it the you are presenting it now.

oh, I guess folks can't debate around here or think a little...nobody can have or entertain a difference of opinion....everybody must go along with what certain folks say as gospel...everything must be dumbed down....the lowest common denominator rules?...
...please see and read nubiansita's topic on truth and honesty.....it hits home....I'll quit now, it's not fun....it's not funny...anymore. </font>Next time we should both try to do better than this.....

I'll take the blame for the derailment of the topic....
...and now back to "Re-entry" records....

"Entry" joke going into heaven:
On their way to get married, a young couple is involved in a fatal car accident. The couple find themselves sitting outside the Pearly Gates waiting for St. Peter to process them into Heaven.
While waiting, they begin to wonder: Could they possibly get married in Heaven?
When St. Peter shows up, they asked him.
St. Peter says, "I don't know. This is the first time anyone has asked. Let me go find out," and he leaves.
The couple sat and waited for an answer....for a couple of months.
While they waited, they discussed that IF they were allowed to get married in Heaven, and SHOULD they get married, what would be the eternal aspect of it all. "What if it doesn't work?" they wondered, "Are we stuck together FOREVER?".
After yet another month, St. Peter finally returns, looking somewhat bedraggled.
"Yes," he informs the couple, "you CAN get married in Heaven."
"Great!" said the couple, "But we were just wondering, what if things don't work out? Could we also get a divorce in Heaven?"
St. Peter, red-faced with anger, slams his clipboard onto the ground.
"OH, COME ON!" he shouts.
"What's wrong?" asks the frightened couple...
"It took me three months to find a priest up here!" he answers. "Do you have ANY idea how long it'll take me to find a lawyer?"
