View Full Version : Job opportunities in Chicago (city jobs)?

The time has finally come. I am thinking about moving on frp, my current job and seek employment elsewhere in the city of Chicago (or surrounding suburbs). The glorious DiscoGoddess used to post job listings from time to time which were very helpful. Also, I believe BHouse would post some every so often. Does anyone have any info they could share regarding city jobs? I've sent applications for the USPS, but need to branch out more. Time to make that $$$
Any info would be helpful.

I wish you had posted this about two weeks ago... I found out at the last minute that the Water Dept. was accepting applications for a Pollution Control Technician. The position involves taking samples of water from different locations to see how high the ph levels are. They were only taking application for 2 days. I take the test this Saturday at Lane Tech. You may want to try this website https://chicago.taleo.net/careersection/100/jobsearch.ftl and search for any other available city positions. You may want to also call Jacqueline Creen @ 312-751-5072 to see when and if they will be accepting application again any time soon. If you come across any other information let me know and I will do the same. Also dysko may be able to help you.

I've been in Pest Control for 14 years, never had anyone get laid off from my company.
There's always work for exsterminators, just come to work.

Thank you, dysko. I sent you a PM and I have your info saved for future reference. Definitely keep me posted.
Chldfknungrnd764 - I will honestly consider that. I want to check out a few avenues beforehand, though. Will keep you posted.
Thank you all for your assistance.
