Hey everbody?
I am wondering if Champagne UK was primarily a reissue label or if any of their releases came out originally on Champagne?
Also if anyone has discography for Champagne UK, please post it... Thanks.
The Champagne records that I am aware of are-
-the UK issue of Billy Who?
-this record:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2569458488&category=1581&rd=1
(which I would like to know what label it came out on originally)
-also an EP that includes Powerline "Journey to.." which I know was originally out on an Elite white label w/ Level 42 "Sandstorm" on the flip.
this is the extent of my knowledge about Champagne although I'm sure they must have had many more releases... so someone please fill me in.
Thanks,
klas

There's an EP with TW Funkmasters' "Love Money" and a mix of "Double Journey". I'm pretty sure it's the original release of "Love Money". It's an EP of British jazz funk. Also there is a reissue of Gil Scott Heron's "The Bottle". I think that's on Champagne (I sold mine graemlins/slap.gif ).

Hi Jonny, That's the EP I was talking about w/ the sax mix of "Double Journey" originally released on Elite White label.
I think "Love Money" originally came out on Simease...
I wasn't knowing about "The Bottle" reish. thanks. graemlins/beerchug.gif
I have the EP with "Love Money" mentioned above. I also have a comp that features obscure Roy Ayers productions (Ladies of the 80's, etc.)

It was a single Lp, although I wish they pressed it up on a double. They crammed like at least 7 songs on each side.

Weren't the Erotic Drum band on there too? The mix on the EP mentioned above is indeed different from the version put out on Prelude. I believe FK touched on that subject a while ago.

In my knowledge ,Champagne Uk began with some uk jazz funk like cloud or o.j.u. For the european
funk collectors, this label is great ,like elite, cause it includes some rare and obscure ref .About Billy Frazier ,don't buy this pressing ,it's so bad !By the way ,I didn't know
there was a siamese issue for the dub of Love Money:are you sure of what you're sayin?
Peace.

Peace. Hi Sam, thanks for the info. I guess Tania was the original issue of Love Money. But there is a Siamese issue, here's a scan.
