we(blueblackness) did a song recently that could possibly go mainstream club. Here's the situation; a friend of ours (david brown) wrote and sang the vocals for a female to sing. the problem is that he sounds so good doin the vocals, and the lyrics are soo "on fire and fresh" that i want to put it out "the way it is" but, we all know that this wouldn't work cause if this record went famous that he would have to perform it, and i would not want to put him in that situation. Soo, if possible, is there any female vocalist that anyone knows in the chicago area that can sound like a combination between "yovahnn's "Everybody want's to be somebody", "everything but the girl", or "lisa stansfield", it would be very helpful. i ain't rich or got tons of money or anything like that, but i will try and accomodate them for their time and effort. I love the way he sang the project and i want her to be able to imitate his vocals the way it is on the demo. I will get her a demo or set somethin up where she can stop by and hear the song and we can go from there.
