This Wednesday, in preparation for our first annual
Winter Music Conference event, Chateau Noir is proud
to present two legends, each bringing their own unique
tastes to the tables.
First, DJ Sahara, one of the most prolific DJs in
Ibiza with a Pacha residency and scores of gigs all
over the island, brings his patented sound to downtown
NYC.
Then, legendary Producer/remixer/DJ Rui DaSilva
(Kismet Records), one-half of Underground Sounds of
Lisbon, will be serving up tasty treats from his many
different musical perspectives.
All of this along with residents Keith Blackstone, Hunter Wilson
& myself will definitely be a night to remember. Hope some of you
can make it out.
Chateau Noir @ 46 Grand Street, SoHo, NYC. No Cover,
Happy Hour 6-8pm. Doors open 6pm until ???.

"Rui Da Silva
(Kismet)
08 January 2001: Silva No 1
Rui Da Silva's 'Touch Me' went straight in at No.1 - eventually. The release date was delayed because of an injunction. EMI say it uses a guitar sample from a Spandau Ballet track, Chant No.1. Rui says it's not a sample - it just sounds similar.

Singer Cassandra was spotted when she was busking in Piccadilly by a friend of Rui's. He took a note of her number and six months later she found herself recording Touch Me.
This track was destined to be big - Mixmag have already called it Anthem of the Year. Those on the case early on were Dave Pearce, Pete Tong and Judge Jules.
With vocals from Cassandra who repeatedly asks to be touched in the morning, Touch Me is all set to become one of 2001's first big hits. The song has already hit no.1 on the Buzz Chart and the Cool Cuts Chart and has proved a very nice start to year for the London based, Portugese Mr. da Silva.
As Touch Me reached no.1, work had already begun on the follow-up.!" source = http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/artist_area/ruidasilva/
