Hey, Y'all,

Just enjoyed a beautiful week in Paris, an absolutely lovely city. The cites, the architecture, and the views from the Eiffel are just absolutely gorgeous. Plus Versailles, the cruise along the Seine, I know I did the tourist traps, but...

Oh, yeah, I just want to let everyone know that I experienced NO anti-American problems with the people of Paris. They are all cool. I rode the subways all up and down the city, and not one stare, snide or attitude issue. Parisians are just folk who are laid back and go about their business. Any language problems between me and the vendors/storekeepers were worked out. In fact, many could tell that I was American, and they spoke English.

And why does everyone walking the Champs D'Elysees smell good? The fragrances are no joke!!!!

Anyway, another observation. A LOT of Black people in Paris. My only regret was that, though they're everywhere, I did not explore Black Paris' culture there as much as I should have (I did much of the tourist spots, which were still bangin!). If I ever get back, I will! Now I understand why WWI vets, musicians, artists, writers and Josephine Bakers from America decided to stay in Paris. These are stories we in the States are deliberately NOT being told!

I would hope that people have an open mind and see for themselves what other cultures are all about, instead of relying on the media. Once again, Paris is great! If there was one issue, it's the driving. graemlins/rofl.gif Just look both ways before crossing. Peace.

PS:
1) 890 euro for an Armani vest I saw in a window. :D
2) I hope that the problems resulting from the heatwave early this month will be corrected. The French are in my prayers on that one.
