Hey, what program did you use to convert your cassette tapes? I have the same situation. I have mastermixes from 79 to the present and want to do the same thing. Convert them to digital form.

Strangely enough, my mixing is just about the same (and the same song-type content as well - lots of vocals, and usually alternating a vocal w/ a track)

... only differences I see these days are:
- I let tracks play the whole way through (so the mixtape(CD) has more than just a dance application)
- I don't mix vocals over vocals (not that I did much before, but am very conscious of it now)

I can't remember what mix that was you're referring to :rofl5:

I bought a new tapedeck last month , but serious ... all of my others had broken, and needed Ginsu knives to be open

So I:

- Record on to a CD burner, from the tapedeck
- Convert the CD to mp3 using Windows Media Player

That's it

'89 was classic for the music. I think it was the transition year from the late 80s to the early 90's. A lot of hip hop was sampling house at that time as well.

your first track on a side is The Sound by Reese & Santonio -aka kevin Saunderson and a dude called Santonio Echols who I dont know much about. Yes 89 was a really good year for House music - I have some real classics from that era and at some point in time I'm gonna mix em up and post it.
