Meet the CNN Heroes Finalists:
http://www.cnn.com/2007/LIVING/11/26/heroes.finalists/

*Julie Rems-Smario from Deaf Hope was one of the 15 finalists. Unfortunately, she did not win. I saw her last week and she was truly honored to even be nominated and overwhelmed that she was a finalist. Julie is an Associate with the Disability Grant Program and has participated in a number of focus groups held by the Office on Violence against Women.

Just a little background information about Deaf Hope:
It is the first Deaf run organization in California.
Deaf Hope recently relocated and is now housed in the FJC (family justice center).
The vast majority of work that Deaf Hope has done over the years has been on a voluntary basis.
