There was a time when Hip Hop and House were VERY connected.
Back in the day, I used to hang with Ice Tee, King Sun, Red Alert.
We all dug the same cutz....House AND Hip Hop
Man Parrish "Hip Hop Be Bop" was even considered House.
'magine THAT!

Kraftwerk inspired Planet Rock and Planet Rock inspired everything after that! The new age of "the electronic dancing sound"-Moscow Disco. The birth of the drum machine enabling one person to do it all...THE AGE OF THE DJ!!!! Both House and Hip Hop/Rap fulfilled the prophecies conceptualized by John Naisbitt in the 80's book...MEGATRENDS! House recycled primarily disco. Hip Hop/Rap everything else!

Well yer Chip E, those guys were using the same gear but in different ways, 808s, DMX and 303s samplers etc and those Electro HipHop tracks were around 120 bpms same as the early house stuff. Ive always been a fan of both House and HipHop, both were funky.
