I've gotten some requests from folks on the board and elsewhere for this video, so I am posting it here for DOWNLOAD (it is no longer available on YouTube, so get it while the getting is good).

For those unaware this is an early 80's (?) video featuring a young Prince appearing on American Bandstand. The music is cool and funky, as always, but the best part is when Dick Clark tries to a mini interview with Prince between songs. The whole scene is uncomfortable to watch.

lol...that was a bit of an uncomfortable interview. I think most 19yr olds wouldn't have been any better, especially those who are reclusive due to being lost in their art.

It's funny seeing Prince so self-conscious and lacking in confidence, complete opposite to how he's perceived now.

I think he had a LOT of self confidence in the video...just looked like he was either pissed off, or just not feeling Dick Clark.

It was a somewhat passive FU, in my opinion.
I bet there's a good story behind that appearance.
