i was spinning a set today which brought back a lot of fond memories of partying back in the day. which is what got reminded me of something a friend of mine told me.
anyhow, (this is a question for the Deejays also)
how many of you all are into the Jack Trax sound?
the reason why i ask is because my friend, who relocated to New York from Chicago about 4 years ago,
said that he has yet to hear ANYONE spin an aggressive Jacking set since he has lived there.
i'm not talking about tech house, or hard, chunky house,
i mean straight up JACK shit. those cuts that make a crowd erupt into a slam dance pit. the type of shit that jocks like Dj Rush, Ron Hardy, Craig Alexander etc.. used to bang out.
cuts like Sleazy D: I've Lost Control, Lil Louis: Black Out phase II, & Dj Rush: Rush' Revenge.
IS THIS MAINLY JUST A CHICAGO THING?
man, i would love to see a DHP party dedicated to JACK TRAX happen here in Chicago (cuz that's where i live), just for old times sake.
i would love to see if people could still slam it up like they did when they were younger.
